Project Timeline Guide

What to Expect During Your Restoration Project

A clear guide to the timeline and process of water damage cleanup and repair with Allied Restoration Company.

Water Damage Cleanup and Repair: What to Expect

Water damage clean up and repair takes between 15โ€“30 days on average. Our goal is to get it all repaired within 15 days, though the timeline depends on the scope of damage, insurance approval, and material availability. Here is what happens at each stage.

Phase 1: Emergency Response (Day 1)

When you call Allied Restoration, we dispatch a crew immediately. On arrival, technicians assess the damage, set up containment if needed, extract standing water using truck-mounted or portable extractors, and begin placing drying equipment. By the end of Day 1, your property is stabilized and drying equipment is running.

We document all damage with photos, moisture readings, and written notes โ€” this documentation is submitted to your insurance carrier as part of your claim.

Phase 2: Structural Drying (Days 2โ€“5)

Drying equipment runs continuously. Allied Restoration technicians return daily to check moisture readings and adjust equipment placement. You will receive a daily drying log with moisture measurements. Most residential water losses reach dry standard within 3โ€“5 days.

During this phase, we may need to remove baseboards, cut small holes in walls (flood cuts), or pull back flooring to allow air flow to structural cavities. All of this is documented for your insurance claim.

Phase 3: Equipment Removal and Clearance (Day 5โ€“7)

Once the structure reaches dry standard per IICRC S500, drying equipment is removed. We provide a final moisture report confirming the structure is dry. This report is submitted to your insurer.

Phase 4: Reconstruction Estimate (Days 5โ€“10)

Allied Restoration prepares a comprehensive Xactimate reconstruction estimate covering all materials and labor needed to restore the property to pre-loss condition. We submit this estimate directly to your insurance adjuster.

Phase 5: Reconstruction (Days 10โ€“30)

Once your insurance approves the estimate, reconstruction begins. This may include drywall replacement, painting, flooring installation, cabinet replacement, and any other repairs needed. We coordinate all trades and keep you informed of progress throughout.
